☁︎ Joining the Discord Server is highly encouraged, but not required
☁︎ The use of AI at any point of the creative process is strictly forbidden. No exceptions.
☁︎ If you are unable to complete your piece for the event due to unexpected circumstances, please let the mod team know as soon as possible so we can find a pinch hitter.Writers
☁︎ Fics must be a minimum of 5,000 words and be complete upon submission. Writers are more than welcome to edit/add to a fic after the posting period has ended.
☁︎ Minors may not create any works rated M or E - based on AO3's Rating Guide.
☁︎ Works may not contain themes of incest (blood relation) or minor/adult relationships.
☁︎ Character bashing (excessive disparaging remarks) is prohibited.
☁︎ Other ships are allowed, so long as Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen are the focus of the work.
☁︎ Controversial themes such as genderswap, omegaverse, etcetera are allowed.Betas

Event Update -
AO3 Maintenance & Schedule Change
As we're sure you're all aware by now, AO3 is undergoing maintenance and is set to be down for 2-4 weeks. This time period coincides with the original posting period of the Xicheng Bang, which was set to be the 8th-15th November.Given this fact, and also given that a lot of you mentioned on the third check-in form that you would benefit from an extension, we've decided to extend the event by one month. Hopefully, AO3 will be back up and running within this period, and it should also give you all a little more breathing room to help get your works ready for posting.However! We're aware this extension brings the end of the event into the holiday period which is of course a super busy time for a lot of people. To account for this and to give you all a little more flexibility, we'll be changing how posting works slightly.Originally, you would have posted your works to the event AO3 collection between 8th and 15th November, with works being revealed at the end of the day on the 15th. Our plan now is to open the collection as soon as AO3 is back up, and move the final reveal day to the end of the day on 20th December. This means that once the collection is open, you can submit your completed works at any point, and they will stay hidden until they are revealed on 20th December with the rest of the collection.TL;DR: We're extending the event! Absolute final deadline to submit your work will be 20th December, but you will be able to add works to AO3 as soon as the site is up and running again.Thanks for your patience and understanding, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the mods!
